The new SRA Handbook – sweeping changes have been made to the Code of Conduct and the Regulatory regime. Increased competition is now inevitable with ‘Tesco Law’ and external funding a reality. Learn how to implement these changes to your advantage, rather than being left behind.

The new SRA Handbook, published on 6 April 2011 and which will come into force on 6 October 2011, replaces the existing Solicitors’ Code of Conduct. It brings all of the SRA’s regulatory requirements into a single coherent structure and covers every aspect of the regulation of individuals, firms and Alternative Business Structures.

This highly practical workshop is designed to assist you to prepare for the changes that the provisions in the new SRA Handbook will bring about. These include: new compliance systems, the requirement for a Compliance Officer for Legal Practice and also for Finance and Administration. You must be able to demonstrate that you have robust internal management and client management systems in place and have identified risks to your business and have procedures in place to address these. You will need to be ready for a far more detailed reporting regime. You will leave this workshop fully equipped to deal with the sweeping changes to the regulatory landscape that are now only weeks away.
